My daughter is the victim of attacks by another child in her preschool. This boy is in his second year of preschool because he was considered too immature for kindergarten. He goes back and forth from being nice to the other kids to actually attacking them.
My daughter has already received two deep scratches on her arm from this child. Another child had his face scratched. I want to talk to the parents but feel the school should handle this. What should I be doing? - Bully's Victim
Answer: This seems to be an extraordinary situation. You definitely should not be talking to the boy's parents. The preschool should have already taken action, as this child has injured several children and obviously needs help learning how to behave in the classroom.
Call the school's director immediately to find out what the school is doing to make sure that this boy will not injure your child or any other child again. And enlist the parents of other victims to call the director so he or she is fully aware of the seriousness of the problem. If you don't get the reassurance that you need from the director, you definitely should begin looking for a new preschool for your daughter.
