I just read your column on conferences and wanted to add my 2 cents. If parents have a special request, such as wanting to talk about standardized test scores or to see what outstanding work looks like, they should write a note or call the teacher ahead of time so he or she will be able to answer their request. Otherwise, valuable conference time could be spent looking for materials, or the teacher simply wouldn't be able to access them immediately. - Elementary School Teacher
