Our son's high-school counselor works with 700 students. Choosing his schedule for next year is done by working with a group of students and the counselor. All he can be sure of is that he is taking the right courses to graduate and is on track to be admitted to the state college. What should we do beyond this? -- Frustrated
Answer: Be sure to look at the admissions requirements for other colleges that appeal to your son. Check out if there are any special requirements in majors that interest him. Beyond this, help your son find electives that he'll enjoy studying and will broaden his knowledge.
