Real Advantages of Community Colleges

I am a high-school junior looking at selecting a college to attend after graduation. My high-school counselor suggested that I also look into the options at community colleges. Why would I possibly want to go to a community college? -- Puzzled
Answer: Did you know that community colleges cost just a fraction of the total price tag of a four-year university degree? Did you realize that community colleges don't put a lot of emphasis on your ACT or SAT scores, and some don't even require you to take them because they have open-admission policy? Would you like to take classes in the evening or on weekends? Would you like to work and make money and still go to school? Both are possible because community colleges offer more flexible class schedules.
Do you already know what you want to study in college? Many students waste money attending universities without having a sense of what they want to study. If this describes you, a community college can be a good option. You can try out a variety of college-level courses without committing thousands of dollars.
Did you know that there are many Associate degree programs offered at a community college that are not offered at a university? Would you like to graduate with an Associate's degree in two years? It could qualify you for a great number of jobs. Community colleges also let you study unique fields, such as a yoga-teacher certification.
Did you know that you can also start at a community college and decide to transfer to a university? As you can see, students should know about community colleges and check out all options before they decide to attend a four-year college.
