What Parents Should not Do

Everyone always tells us what to do for our children to help them succeed in school. What are some things that we should not do? -- What Not to Do
Answer: Sometimes what parents don't do is just as important is what they do. Here is our list of "Don'ts for Parents" that will help their children have a good school experience:
1. Don't compare your children academically with each other. Every child is unique, and everyone learns at a different rate.
2. Don't do your children's homework or projects. You definitely are not helping them by doing their work for them. Instead, show them where they will be able to locate the information they need.
3. Don't criticize a teacher, textbook or school in front of your children, as they will adopt your attitude. Instead, work with teachers and be positive about textbooks and the school. These are life lessons that you are teaching your children, and they are definitely learning from your example.
4. Don't write fake excuses for children to miss a day of school. It is a bad example for your children to see you lie, even for them.
5. Don't throw away any information from the school without carefully reading everything. You don't want to miss any important events that are taking place at the school.
6. Don't fail to reply to any direct information or requests from a teacher.
