Teens' Views on Social Networking

What do teen girls really think about social networking? Do they realize the dangers involved in being online? Do they understand some colleges are looking at their webpages and the content could influence admission decisions? -- Concerned
Answer: According to a national survey taken by the Girl Scouts of the USA, the majority of girls understand their emotional safety and reputations are at risk online, yet 50 percent admit to not always being as careful as they should be online. Sixty-eight percent of the girls have had a negative experience on a social networking site, such as having someone gossip about them or being bullied. Furthermore, 40 percent of the girls are concerned that their online activities will get them into trouble with parents and teachers.
