My daughter is 7 years old and has just been diagnosed with a learning disability. She is currently in a grade 2/3 classroom. Should I consider a single-grade classroom? - Uncertain
Answer: Don't waste any time considering a single-grade classroom. Instead, talk to your daughter's Individual Education Plan team and tell them your concerns. They should know what the classroom situation is like for your daughter and whether it is appropriate for her. If she is not able to perform up to expectations in her current classroom, then the team will need to make the decision on whether a different classroom would be better. Children with IEPs cannot be moved until the team decides on where the next placement should be.
