Gifted Children Moving too fast

I want to comment on bright children skipping grades. I was skipped five times in school. It seemed to me that I never knew which classroom was the right one. I graduated from elementary school at 11 1/2, from high school at 14 1/2, and from college at 18 1/2.
I can honestly say that my social skills were woefully lacking and that I had a hard time fitting in with my classmates. This has impacted my life negatively. Things would have been much easier if there had been the counseling and understanding of young children that there is today. - Too Much Skipping
Answer: You were obviously a highly gifted student, and your teachers tried to find the path that would give you a challenging education. Fortunately, there are so many more options available today, including classrooms and schools for the gifted. There is also the wonderful option of independent study through challenging online classes.
