Weak Grades in Honors Classes

What's the sense of my being in honors classes in math and English and working so hard to only earn C's? If I were in regular classes like I was last year, I'd be getting B's or maybe even A's. These C grades are not going to look good on my college application. Should I go back to the regular classes at the end of the semester? - Struggling
Answer: The old adage of college-admissions officers is: They'd rather see students taking honors classes than getting straight A's. However, they are not going to be impressed with too many C's, either. If your transcript is not filled with A's, you might consider dropping down to regular classes rather then just getting by in the more challenging ones. There's also the possibility of staying in only one of the honors classes.
