Too Much Time on the Computer

Everyone is always saying that too much time on the computer is not good for school children. My young children are learning so much on the computer that I encourage them to stay on the computer. Thus, I disagree with all my friends who limit their children's computer time. -- Computer Lover
Answer: Most education experts disagree with you. Of course, the computer can be a great educational tool; however, the way most children use it is another story. Here are some of the negatives of being a junior computer addict:
-Games require only short periods of concentration, while school requires much longer periods of concentration.
-Children are losing valuable sleep time because they are spending so much time on the computer.
-Computer time cuts into exercise time.
-Too much computer time severely limits valuable personal interaction with others.
