Answer: The following tips are things that you can try when you are reading with your preschoolers:
-Have your children point to the pictures as you read the words.
-Encourage your children to pretend-read a story.
-Talk about the story you are reading before, during and after reading it.
-Ask questions about what you have read together, but don't make it a "right or wrong" answer session.
-Help your children select books that meet their personal interests.
-Know your children's attention span. Don't read beyond it.
-Be willing to read a favorite story day in and day out.
