Teacher Information on Stuttering

My child's teacher needs information on how to deal with her stuttering.-Parent
Answer: If your child stutters, his or her teacher might have questions about calling on the child, handling teasing and dealing with oral presentations. You might want to have your child's teacher watch a copy of the Stuttering Foundation's video "Stuttering: Straight Talk for Teachers." It gives teachers practical strategies they can use to help children feel more comfortable in the classroom. It also includes a discussion by children who stutter of their classroom experiences and what was helpful for them. The video is offered free to public libraries or can be purchased.
