Should I Attend a Women's College?

My mom attended a women's college and is trying to sell me on following in her footsteps. She says it gave her such self-confidence and really increased her self-esteem. Plus, she insists that it'll help me earn more money in the future. Are there really genuine benefits to going to a women's college? -- Undecided
Answer: There are benefits to attending a women's college. They start with more personal touches in the admissions process. And it's true that their graduates have a better chance of earning more money than their coed counterparts. They also give women a network of supporters who will help them both personally and professionally throughout their lives. Other advantages include:
-An opportunity to participate more fully in classes
-Smaller class sizes -- resulting in more interaction with teachers
-Greater satisfaction with all aspects of their college experience than those attending coed schools
-A greater likelihood of graduating from college and earning a doctoral degree
-A greater chance of being a member of Congress or a business superstar
You should visit a women's college to see what these schools have to offer that would appeal to you. Many students don't seriously consider a women's college until they have visited one.
