My Child Skips School and I Let Him

My 14-year-old son gets very poor grades and skips school frequently. Should I push him harder to go to school? -- Unsure
Answer: This behavior needs to change fast before both you and your child are held accountable for his attendance by the courts. If you have no control over your child, the school counselor should have ideas about how to improve the situation, from grades to skipping school. It's also possible that the present school is not a good fit for him, you may wish to explore the idea of an alternative school with the counselor.
