College for Student with Low Grades and SAT

My son has low SAT scores and only a C- grade-point average. He wants to go to college. I am not sure if this is realistic. How would we ever go about finding a college for him? -- Did Not Plan Ahead
Answer: School counselors have answers to questions like yours -- especially about local and state schools. Also, it is extremely easy to go online to college search sites and simply enter in your son's qualifications and what he is looking for in a college (location, size, majors) and immediately get a long list of possibilities.
When a high-school student has not done well academically, going to a community college can often be a solid choice. At these schools, classes are generally smaller, and students receive more guidance.
