Achievement Depends on Teachers

What would you say is the most important thing that determines how well children achieve at school? -- Inquisitive
Answer: Many factors have been tied to how well children achieve in school. Among them are family income, presence of a father in the home, effects of peers and, naturally, teachers.
Today, there is more education research data than ever before. And it definitely substantiates the commonly held belief that it is teachers who really make a difference in how much children achieve.
In the past, it was believed that the most successful teachers were those who held the most certification. However, research involving teachers with the same certification and experience who teach in the same grade in the same school, using the same materials and drawing students randomly from the same population has discovered that this is generally not true.
When teachers are hired, it is very difficult to determine those who will be quality teachers. It is only after the first few years of teaching that it becomes clear who the quality teachers are. They are the ones whose children are achieving.
