Backpack Contents and Injuries

Question: You addressed the issue of backpacks earlier this year. Backs might be breaking from overloaded backpacks; however, the weight might not be entirely from legitimate school-related materials. I suggest parents and students inventory backpacks on a regular basis. Too often, the contents are a collection of an unnecessary nature: cans of soda, snacks, electronic games and old school papers. While some books are needed, many might be left out and carried only on days when they are used in class. - Reducing the Load

Answer: A frequent check of the contents of backpacks could be a back saver. Also, if you are thinking about buying your children backpacks with wheels, consider how often they might have to lift these heavier backpacks. It might be more frequently than you believe.
